History: (Marvel Super-Heroes III#5/3)- Roger Joliet concocted a scheme with his employer Mr. Harlock to steal from the museum where they worked, dressed up as a pirate. In his new identity as the Jolly Roger, Roger made away with the gold while Harlock pretended to have never seen him.

The Jolly Roger met up with Harlock at his cavern base by Pirate's Cove, and expressed his concern that Roger was beginning to lose his mind. When Roger heard someone approaching, Harlock departed.

Roger found three students wandering about Pirate's Cove and set after them, but was attacked by the hero Speedball. As the two of them grappled, they burst through a hollow rock into Jolly Roger's pirate ship, which was hidden beneath. As they fought inside the ship, it began to sink. Speedball managed to defeat the Jolly Roger in battle, but had to abandon the ship without him. The Jolly Roger never came to shore, but Harlock was later picked up by the police.

(Marvel Year-in-Review 1992) - Jolly Roger became owner of the Springdale branch of the Bar with no Name.

Comments: Created by Steve Ditko, Jo Duffy and Mark Badger.

Mr. Harlock was the head of the museum, and schemed with Roger Joliet to steal gold from his own museum. The police somehow determined he was responsible, and had him arrested.
