HACK

Real Name: Unrevealed

Identity/Class: Human, technology-user

Occupation: Computer hacker

Group Membership: None

Affiliations: Nick Fury, Hulk

Enemies: None

Known Relatives: None

Aliases: None

Base of Operations: A small property in an unknown city, USA (Probably somewhere on the Eastern Seaboard)

First Appearance: (mentioned) Incredible Hulk III#16 (September, 2000); Incredible Hulk III#18 (seen)

Powers/Abilities: Hack had no superhuman abilities. In fact, he was a cripple and needed crutches just to walk. He was, however, a master computer hacker, and thus he had access to just about every major database in the world. He was a master on conspiracy theories, and believed quite a few that nobody else ever would.

History: (Incredible Hulk III#18, (fb))- Hack had polio as a child, and though he survived, he was left a cripple.

(Incredible Hulk III#16)- At some point Hack became affiliated with Nick Fury.

(Incredible Hulk III#16)- When Hulk came to Nick Fury for information on General Ryker, Fury told Hulk that if he wanted information, Hack was the person to go to.

(Incredible Hulk III#18)- Bruce Banner came to Hack's place to get information. Hack was quite impressed that he was meeting Bruce Banner in the flesh. In response to Banner's inquiries about General Ryker, Hack informed Banner of Ryker's involvement in dozens of conspiracies, and that he had a role in JFK's assassination. Hack then revealed that he believed that Ryker was working for space aliens from Mars. Banner told that he was going to go after Ryker, and that if he had not contacted Hack by a certain time, that Hack should notify SHIELD.

(Incredible Hulk III#19)- When Banner did not contact Hack, Hack notified Nick Fury of the Hulk's probable whereabouts.

(Incredible Hulk III#21)- When Hulk came to Hack for information again, Hack demanded that first the Hulk do a favour for him. Hack asked Hulk to break into a  place that Hack thought contained an alien hybrid (Hack was really into conspiracy theories) and obtain it for him. Hulk succeeded in obtaining the box containing the alien hybrid, and brought it back to Hack. They discovered that it was simply a special hybrid of corn.

Comments: Created by Paul Jenkins, Ron Garney, and Sal Buscema.

Hack believed in a ton of conspiracies including but not limited to the internet being an elaborate alien plot to keep tabs on us, and dozens of aliens living among us, especially those that their own societies didn't want. He also believed aliens ran Area 51, controlled General Ryker, and a ton more.

To me, Paul Jenkins' run on the Hulk either produced a great issue, or a horrible one, rarely an average one. His multi-issue stories like, "Dogs of War," "Snake Eyes," and "Spiral Staircase," and especially his story with the Abomination were spectacular. However, his issues featuring the Grey Hulk just didn't appeal to me. It was a completely different Grey Hulk who didn't act anything like he was supposed to, unlike Peter David's Grey Hulk. Man, that was something special.
