History: (Marvel Comics Presents I#98/4) - An exceptionally angry young man, the Gladiator impostor went to Melvin Potter's Spotlight Costume shop, and asked him for a specially designed black Gladiator costume. Potter took the man's information with no intention of filling in the order, then investigated the man's house. Potter returned again, while the wannabe was sleeping, and woke him up. The Wannabe wouldn't listen to Potter's attempts to talk some sense into him, and goaded him into attacking him. Potter was about to cut into him with his forearm blades, while the wannabe egged him on, but Potter just left him, warning him that you can't just kill your problems - they always come back.
