GALACTUS' "CAT"

Classification: Extra-terrestrial Robot

Creator: Galactus

User/Possessors: Galactus

First Appearance: Secret Wars I#5 (September, 1984 )

Powers/Abilities/Functions: Galactus' "Cat" possessed immense super strength (probably around Class 90) and was very large (fifteen-twenty feet tall). It could shoot a paralyzing chemical out of its mouth that could paralyze even Thor. Its hide was very heat resistant although its insides could be destroyed by very intense heat.

History: An unknown amount of time ago, Galactus created a robot to deal with nuisances getting in his way while trying to devour a planet.

(Secret Wars I#5) - Galactus sent a robot down to deal with several heroes trying to prevent him from devouring Battle World. It attacked and sent the Hulk flying, grabbed She-Hulk in its hand, and paralyzed at least four other heroes. Eventually, the Thing grabbed the robot's arms behind its back and held it long enough for the Human Torch to scorch the Robot's insides, rendering it inert.

Comments: Created by Jim Shooter, Bob Layton and John Beatty

The reason it is called Galactus' "cat" is because when Reed Richards informed the other heroes that Galactus found them to be potential pests, Iron Man responded, "So? He gonna sic his cat on us or something?" Galactus then sent down this robot as Richards replied, "Exactly!"

Galactus' cat fought many of the heroes assembled for the Secret Wars: Hulk, FF (Human Torch & Thing), Iron Man, She-Hulk, Hawkeye, Spider-Man, Captain Marvel, Thor, and Captain America (Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars#5) - Kyle

The heroes who actually came to blows with the cat so to speak were the following: Captain America, Captain Marvel, Hawkeye, Hulk, Human Torch, Iron Man, She-Hulk, Spider-Man, Thing, Thor - Stunner
